Search on for Tempe man missing since SaturdayPosted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Police are searching for a young man who has been missing since early Saturday morning.
Willie Jigba, 24, was last seen at a party at the Sotelo Apartments in the area of Scottsdale Road and Weber Drive at about 3 a.m. Saturday. Police had broken up the party. They believe Jigba left alone.
Jigba was supposed to start a new job at Kona Grill on Sunday, but he did not show up for work and nobody was able to contact him. That's when Jigba's family called the police.
Friends, family and police have been scouring the area around the apartment complex, which is about one mile from Tempe Town Lake. So far they have not found any sign of the young man.
One of Jigba's friends said he is especially concerned because Jigba does not know how to swim.
Sgt. Steve Carbajal of the Tempe Police Department said investigators do not believe Jigba is a danger to himself or to others. While police said there is no sign of foul play at this point, Jigba's friends and family said not showing up for work and not responding to phone calls or messages are not normal behaviors for him.
Jigba was last seen wearing a blue and green flannel shirt over a black Jack Daniels T-shirt, jeans and purple Vans. He's 6 feet tall, weighs 190 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.
If you have any information about where Jigba might be, please call the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.
