GILBERT, Ariz. - A Gilbert man being sought by police was arrested after a two-hour standoff Thursday evening.

Gilbert police caught up with suspect Christopher Patrizio, 45, who was being sought for aggravated harassment, stalking and threatening charges of his estranged wife.

Officers from Gilbert and Mesa confronted Patrizio in a parking lot near Main Street and Greenfield Road.

When Patrizio spotted the officers, he got into his truck and began barricading himself in the bed of the vehicle, which was covered by a camper shell.

Patrizio was armed with a handgun.

Additional officers from Mesa responded and Tactical Operations Units from both departments negotiated with Patrizio.

Ultimately, gas was used to get him out of the truck and he was arrested without harm.

Patrizio was booked for the above charges, plus a probation violation and obstruction of judicial proceedings from Gilbert Municipal Court.
