2 Sex assaults involving kids being investigated by policePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX – Detectives are investigating two alleged sex assault cases in South Phoenix that police believe are related.
Investigators with the Phoenix Police Department’s Sex Crime Unit say the alleged assaults involved young victims and took place when they were either going to or coming from school. The first assault was last November and the second took place Monday.
The victims, ages 10 and 12, were lured by conversation and in one case a weapon was used and another victim was bound.
The boundaries where the alleged attacks took place are Seventh Avenue to 19th Avenue and from Southern Avenue to Baseline Road.
The suspect is described as a black male between 13 and 17 years old. He is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He is described as having a thin build, short hair and reportedly talks in a deep voice. He was reportedly wearing a blue or black hooded sweater or sweatshirt and jeans at the time of the alleged assaults.
