Senator Jon Kyl is taking issue with remarks made by Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik.
Sunday morning on a political round-table show, Kyl disagreed with comments made by the sheriff during Saturday night's press conference.
Dupnik said vitriolic political rhetoric from certain media figures has consequences.
Sunday, Dupnik defended his statements.
The sheriff would not clarify which media outlets he was referring to, but says people who watch TV or listen to radio know exactly who he's talking about.
"I really didn't think that had any part in a law enforcement briefing last night it was speculation and i dont think we should rush to speculate," said Kyl.
"People are afraid to speak out and the reason politicians dont want to address these issues is because they dont want any enemies they want everyone to vote for them," said Dupnik.
Senator Kyl added that no one knows what motivated the shooter And he was very mentally unstable.
