Police ID victims of triple homicide near Salt River

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Police Department has released the names of the victims in a triple homicide.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, Adrian Moreno, 38, went into the Salt River bottom area Thursday afternoon to test drive his Jeep Wrangler, along with two friends, Raul Piziarro, 28, and Jimmy Alejandro Villa, 23.

The men never returned although the Jeep was located near 107th and Southern Avenues at about noon Friday. A massive search for the men was launched.

Police said the bodies of two men were discovered that evening in the area where the Jeep was found. They have been identified as Moreno and Piziarro. The body of Jimmy Alejandro Villa, 23, was found just before noon on Sunday.

All three bodies had obvious signs of trauma, according to Sgt. Steve Martos with the Phoenix Police Department.

Several agencies participated in the search, including the Phoenix Police Department, Gila River Police Department and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
