University Medical Center confirms a second person denied transplant coverage by the state died.
The unidentified patient died last week at another medical facility after being taken off the liver transplant list.
Lawmakers reduced medicaid coverage for those procedures in october as part of the state's budget cuts.
By one estimate, nearly 30 Arizonans will die this year because of the cuts.
And state health officials confirmed the flu has claimed the life of a child in Cochise County.
This is Arizona's first pediatric flu death this season.
There have been 1,100 confirmed cases of the flu reported since september, 355 of those cases were reported last week.
