Surprise police investigate bank robbery

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Surprise Police Department is asking for the public's help to find two suspects who robbed a bank Thursday afternoon.

Sgt. Mark Ortega said officers responded to a robbery at the Arizona Business Bank at Bell Road and R.H. Johnson Boulevard at approximately 3:18 p.m.

According to witnesses, a white male and a black female robbed the bank by handing the teller a note. Ortega said the suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The male suspect was described as approximately 6 feet tall and was wearing a blue beanie-style cap and a blue hooded sweater. The female suspect was described as approximately 5 feet tall and had on a dark hooded sweater and sunglasses.
