Huge Mega Millions jackpot goes to 2 winners in Idaho, Washington state

PHOENIX -- One person in Idaho and another in Washington are the country's newest millionaires after Tuesday night's much-anticipated $355 million Mega Millions lottery drawing.

The winning numbers were 4, 8, 15, 25, 47, with 42 being the Mega Ball number. To win the Mega Millions game, players must match five regular numbers plus the Mega Ball.

Even though the winning tickets were not sold here, you'll still want to check your numbers. Two people in Arizona matched the first five numbers drawn Tuesday night. Those two tickets are worth $250,000 each.

The $355 million jackpot is the fourth largest prize in U.S. history and the second largest in Mega Millions history. The jackpot's cash option works out to about $224 million. Besides the jackpot, prizes range from $2 to $250,000.

Lottery officials say the website experienced "unprecedented traffic."

Fans of the hit ABC show "Lost" were quick to note that four of Tuesday's winning numbers are the same as those played by Hugo "Hurley" Reyes in the popular drama, which came to an end last year.

The numbers were a major recurring theme in the show and the source of much conjecture on the part of fans, aka "Losties." Hurley's numbers (4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42) won him $114 million, but if you played them Tuesday night, they got you $150.

Arizona joins 40 other states and the District  of Columbia in the Mega Millions game. Tickets are $1. Drawings are done every Tuesday and Friday.

The jackpot resets to $12 million for this Friday's drawing.
