PHOENIX – A grandmother has died from injuries sustained after being struck by a car in Phoenix.
Police say 82-year-old Shar May was walking with her 10-year-old granddaughter Saturday just after 7 p.m. from a nearby park in the area of 35th Avenue and Dunlap.
Investigators say the little girl saw the car and darted back but her grandmother could not move out of the way fast enough and was struck.
The driver remained on the scene.
May was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition where she later died.
