MESA, Ariz. – Authorities, relatives and volunteers continue to search for a Mesa man who has been missing since Christmas Eve.

Hugh Turner, 85, went for a walk on Dec. 24 and never returned home.

The Mesa Police Department, Arizona Search Track and Rescue, family members and volunteers have been looking for Turner, who has shown some short-term memory loss. The search is now expanding throughout the state and authorities are asking for the public's help to locate Turner.

Turner’s family says that although they have not found their loved one, they have spoken to people who saw him after he was reported missing. There have been nine confirmed sightings of Turner and authorities are following up on more recent leads.

Dogs from Arizona Search Track and Rescue picked up Turner's scent in the Red Mountain Ranch area.

"My deepest hope is that someone has taken him in and that they don't realize he's missing. That would be a dream come true," said Janice McCaffrey, Turner's daughter.

Turner is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds with balding gray/white hair. He was last seen wearing tan pants, a tan baseball cap, a navy blue jacket and white tennis shoes.

Anyone who may have seen Turner is asked to contact Arizona Search Track and Rescue at 623-695-3926 or the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211.
