Freeze warning still in effect; high of 55 SundayPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX – A freeze warning is still in effect in Maricopa County as well as in Gila, Florence and Casa Grande.
The freeze warning expired in Tucson at 9 a.m. Sunday but will remain in effect in Phoenix through Monday at 10 a.m.
Temperatures were as low as 23 degrees in some parts of Maricopa County on New Year’s Day.
The high in Sunday’s forecast will be in the mid-50s, which is about 6 degrees warmer than it was Saturday.
The temperatures are still below average. Meteorologist Brittney Shipp reports the forecast should be at about 66 degrees.
The temperatures are expected to return to the 60s by Monday, which is still below average but warmer than the temperatures we have been experiencing in the past few days.
