A brush fire burning in the West Valley continues to grow.
The Penguin Air News Chopper flew right into the smoke late Monday afternoon.
The Phoenix Fire Department said the fire - named the River Fire - has been burning since Sunday near 91st Avenue and Southern. But as winds picked up Monday afternoon, so did the flames.
No buildings are threatened.
The Phoenix Fire Department said firefighters are going to monitor it with three brush trucks on-site, but right now the plan is to just let it burn out.
The high was 84 degrees Tuesday in Phoenix, nine degrees above the average. Winds were out of the west at approximately 5 mph.
