Billy the Kid not pardoned, local author weighs in on decisionPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- He was a wanted man, becoming one of the most notorious outlaws in the Wild West. Billy the Kid, who has been dead for more than 100 years, almost got a pardon Friday.
New Mexico's Gov. Bill Richardson decided against the pardon.
Local author Bob Boze Bell literally wrote the book on the gunslinger whose exploits have been both romanticized and condemned.
Bell shared his opinion on the pardon that didn't happen.
