Law enforcement steps up DUI patrols this weekendPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Since Thanksgiving, officers and deputies throughout the state have arrested more than 3,000 people on suspicion of drunk driving.
Scott Pasmore talked to Lt. Brian Lee of the Phoenix Police Department about the special DUI patrols and checkpoints that will be in place this holiday weekend.
If you do find yourself in a situation where you're unable to drive, there is a free service that will get you -- and your car -- home safely.
AAA Arizona is once again offering it's Tipsy Tow service.
AAA will tow your car home for free up to a 10 mile distance. There is a fee for distances that are more than 10 miles. Tow-truck drivers will not take you to another party venue, nor will they take you to a hotel unless you can prove you're staying there.
You do not have to be a member of AAA to take advantage of the service, which is available from 6 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday.
To get a free Tipsy Tow, call 1-800-AAA-HELP.
