PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Department of Public Safety received more than 100 calls reporting slide-offs in a three hour period Wednesday as snow and rain made highways slick.
Traffic is restricted on Interstate 17 north of Camp Verde. State Route 87 was reopened south of Payson after a multi-vehicle collision.
No serious injuries had been reported.
Snow is falling at the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Prescott and other parts of northern Arizona. The National Weather Service says visibility is down to a half-mile at the Grand Canyon and down to a quarter-mile in Flagstaff.
Snow accumulations of up to 2 feet are expected in areas with elevations above 6,500 feet.
Rain is soaking the Phoenix area and much of south-central Arizona, and temperatures are expected to be as much as 15 degrees below normal.
