Man hit by car, killed while crossing Phoenix streetPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A man who was jaywalking across a Phoenix street was hit by a car and killed Tuesday night.
It happened at about 10 p.m. on Indian School Road near 30th Street.
According to police, Roger Dale Rose was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by a car that was heading west on Indian School Road. Sgt. Steve Martos said there is a crosswalk with caution lights less than 50 yards from where Rose was crossing.
Rose, 59, was in extremely critical condition when he rushed to a local hospital. He later died of his injuries.
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.
