Blizzard sacks NFL gamePosted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA - A fierce winter east coast storm has forced the National Footbal League to postpone Sunday night's Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles game.
Mayor Michael Nutter declared a snow emergency earlier in the day. The decision to postpone the game was made before there was any snow accumilation on the ground. Up to 12 inches of snow is expected to fall. A winter storm warning is in effect for the Philadelphia region until 1pm Monday.
The nationally televised game has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 8pm EST. According to the NFL this will be the first Tuesday game since 1946.
