Arizona State escapes North Carolina A&T 56-50

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Rihards Kuksiks scored 15 points, including a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 2:52 left, and Arizona State rallied to beat North Carolina A&T 56-50 Thursday.

Kuksiks' 3 gave the Sun Devils (7-4), who trailed by 12 in the second half, a 53-50 advantage, and they held on to complete the comeback.

Nic Simpson scored 17 points and had five assists to lead the Aggies (5-6), who led 29-23 at halftime and extended their lead to 38-26 in the first four minutes of the second half.

North Carolina A&T trailed 13-5 early before putting together a 12-0 run late in the first half. Simpson scored seven points during the spurt, and Thomas Coleman added four points in the final 30 seconds of the half to give the Aggies a six-point advantage at the break.
