FLAGSTAFF - Recent snow at Snowbowl near Flagstaff will make it possible for the ski resort to open on Saturday.

Snowbowl received 11 to 15 inches of snow during the past 24 hours and so crews are preparing to open the ski resort on Christmas Day.

Snowbowl Road and access to Snowbowl ski trails are closed as the staff prepares to open.

They must clear hundreds of trees and branches the recent wet storm caused to fall on the trials.

Snowbowl said the road will also be closed on Friday too.

Season pass holders can pick up their season passes on the main level of Hart Prairie Lodge.

The lifts and runs status for the opening on Saturday will be determined Friday afternoon. More information online at http://www.arizonasnowbowl.com/.
