GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A Glendale man has been booked for first-degree murder in the death of his own mother.

Sgt. Brent Coombs of the Glendale Police Department says investigators arrested Dominic Anthony Chagolla at his Peoria home late Tuesday afternoon.

Maria Chagolla, 50, was reported missing on Wednesday, Dec. 15. She was last seen dropping off her son near 87th Avenue and Butler Drive in Peoria.

Maria Chagolla's body was found in her SUV five days later. The vehicle was parked near 81st and Glendale avenues, which is just a few minutes from her home.

Detectives said evidence connected to the crime led them to Dominic Chagolla, 32.

Investigators have not released any additional details about the murder, but they have said they are not looking for any other suspects.
