Could interstate, rural road signs help Arizona's bottom line?

PHOENIX -- Arizona is hoping that roadside ad signs could help its troubled budget.

Some 2,200 blue signs featuring logos for various businesses and attractions are posted on Arizona's Interstates and rural roads.

Arizona Logo Sign Group charges the businesses, most of which provide food, services, lodging and fun to Arizona's travelers, a monthly fee to be included on those signs. The state, however, does not get any of that money.

That could change when the current contract expires at the end of the month.
