Rio Nuevo board enters agreement with City of TucsonPosted: Updated:
Against state lawmakers' wishes, the Rio Nuevo board voted to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Tucson Wednesday.
That means Tucson will partner with the board to pursue new projects. Wednesday's vote wasn't unanimous though, it passed six to four.
The Rio Nuevo board received a letter signed by six state legislators urging the board to hold off on any further agreements with the city. The board didn't listen though. The board's chairwoman Jodi Bain was one of those 'no' votes.
