Anger flares at TUSD Board meetingPosted: Updated:
No violence but plenty of tension at Tucson Unified School District's governing board meeting Wednesday night.
Board president Judy Burns got angry at a member of the audience. She got so upset, she adjourned the meeting shortly after it started.
"So, if you're going to speak to me, this meeting is adjourned," said TUSD Board President Judy Burns.
Board members reconvened the meeting about 15-minutes later. We're told the controversy over the ethnic studies program caused the tension. Board members don't meet again until January.
