PEORIA, Ariz. -- An Arizona Department of Public Safety narcotics task force arrested three men and seized approximately 85 pounds of cocaine at a Peoria home on Wednesday.

Task force members served a search warrant at a home near 81st and Peoria avenues following a five-month investigation that involved DPS, the Arizona Attorney General's office and the Phoenix Police Department.

Detectives were searching for money, drugs and suspects believed to be linked to a Mexican-based drug cartel.

In addition to the cocaine worth an estimated $1 million, detectives seized two vehicles and $28,068 in U.S. currency.

Officers arrested Benjamin Dominquez Ruiz, 43, of Portales, N.M., Omar Carin Murillo Montoya, 35, of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, and Guillermo Alonso Palomino Cota, 35, of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.

The men are facing a total of 18 felony charges, including money laundering and possession of narcotic drugs.
