The Tucson Police Department is asking for help locating a suspect in a shooting at the Candy Store.
On October 28, 2009 at 1:18 a.m., officers from Operations Division Midtown were dispatched to the Candy Store Show club located at 1104 S. Craycroft Rd., following a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers located 20 year-old, Angel A. Martinez, suffering from gunshot trauma. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Tucson Police Gang Detectives responded to continue the investigation. Detectives learned that several males confronted Mr. Martinez as he exited the business. The physical altercation turned deadly when one of the males identified as 28 year-old, Cliffton Martinez, brandished a handgun and shot Mr. Martinez. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Mr. Cliffton Martinez has been booked into the Pima County Jail and is charged with one count of 1st Degree Murder.
