Doctor admits to engaging in sexual acts with minorPosted: Updated:
ANTHEM, Ariz. – A doctor was arrested for molesting and engaging in sexual conduct with a minor.
Maricopa County sheriff’s detectives took Dr. Don Underwood into custody on Thursday. He is a naturopathic doctor and faces seven counts of child molestation and three counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
Police said the mother of the 9-year-old male victim contacted police after her son said he and the doctor played a “tickling game” while nude at Underwood’s home in Anthem.
The victim’s mother said she is an ex-employee of the doctor.
Police said the boy provided descriptive and graphic information to a special victims unit during two interviews, which implicated the doctor in felony child molestation charges.
Police said the doctor admitted to engaging in sexual conduct with the boy during an interview with deputies Thursday.
Detectives suspect there may be more victims in this case. Anyone who wishes to come forward or has further information is asked to call MCSO.
