Tucson movie complex closingPosted: Updated:
The final curtain is just around the corner for the Century Park 16 movie complex. The theaters' new owners expect to shut the doors early next year according to the Arizona Daily Star, but they haven't yet decided what will become of the property. 20 employees will be transferred to other theaters.
The 16-screen multiplex opened in 1989 on the site of the old Tucson 5 drive-in and quickly earned a dubious reputation as a favorite hunting ground for car thieves.
