Police said two women got into an argument with a man at an apartment complex near 15th Avenue and Roosevelt Street at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said Jose Miranda, 68, allegedly threatened one woman with a gun then shot the other woman.
Police officers found the victim on the ground in the courtyard and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released, but Martos said she was a Hispanic woman in her mid-30s.
