Marcelino Varona, SCC Provisional College District, says the District, like a lot of educational resources, is struggling financially. He says Cochise signed a one-year agreement directly with the provisional community college board to provide instruction at the 1904 Courthouse and elsewhere in the county. However, that money is based on property taxes, which won’t be available for two years. He says a request will be made to the State Legislature to loan the District money until tax revenues start coming in.
