TEMPE, Ariz – The Arizona Cardinals have place Max Hall on injured reserve and signed quarterback Richard Bartel to fill his roster spot.
Hall suffered a left shoulder injury in the loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
Bartel is 6 foot, 3 inches, 230 pounds.
He spent the preseason with the Washington Redskins, but was released during final roster cuts. He served as third quarterback in 2009 for Washington for the last six games of the season.
He was signed as an undrafted rookie in 2007 by the Dallas Cowboys. He also was on the practice squad of the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Bartel played at Tarleton State and threw for 2,033 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior.
He spent the season with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL.
