Police seek clues in homicide of two womenPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX – Police are investigating the homicide of two women, but at this point they have more questions than answers.
A friend of the women went to their house in the 4200 block of Cambridge Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. Friday. After not receiving an answer at the door, she looked through a window and reportedly saw what appeared to be a body on the floor.
Officers found the two victims inside the house. According to police, there were no signs of forced entry and the doors were locked.
The victims have been identified as Melissa Mason and Nicole Glass, both 27 years old. Mason had recently learned she was pregnant.
Sgt. Steve Martos said there was apparent trauma to the bodies, but did not say how the women died. Police are investigating this case as a double homicide.
According to court paperwork, Glass was linked to a drug bust about a year ago.
Many questions still remain about who might be responsible for the murders.
