Another child abuse victim of former Mesa bus driver comes forwardPosted: Updated:
MESA, Ariz. - Mesa police have confirmed that a former Mesa school bus driver charged with groping a young girl is going to face additional charges.
According to Mesa police, another 9-year-old girl has come forward alleging she was inappropriately touched on Billy Bryant's bus in September of 2009.
Mesa police have asked the county attorney to add another charge in the case of child abuse.
This is the third person to come forward in the case against Bryant.
Bryant pleaded not guilty to charges of groping a 9-year-old girl and luring her into his car earlier this month.
The Maricopa County Superior Court said Bryant's next court date is an initial pretrial conference Jan. 13.
Police say Bryant was interviewed by detectives and booked on two counts of child molestation and aggravated assault for the first child. He's currently being held without bond at the downtown Phoenix jail.
Bryant was a suspect in another child molestation case from last year, but that case was inactivated because of insufficient evidence.
Bryant was a bus driver for Legacy Charter School, so detectives believe there might be other victims yet to come forward. The Mesa Police Department is asking anyone with information to call 480-644-2211.
