Parity hurting Pac-10's postseason partyPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- The Pac-10 is solid up top with Oregon and Stanford on track to play in BCS bowls.
After that, the conference's prospects aren't quite as bright.
Thanks to a tough nonconference schedule and a tightly packed bunch of similarly talented teams, the Pac-10 is struggling to fill its bowl allotment and more than half the conference could finish with losing records.
The conference currently has just four teams with winning records and only three -- Oregon, Stanford and Arizona -- are bowl eligible because of USC's sanctions.
The Pac-10 plays the toughest nonconference schedule among the BCS conferences and is the only conference to play nine league games, which could leave it with just four teams getting to the postseason.
