Mesa student arrested for stealing laptop from classroom

MESA, Ariz. -- A Mesa high school student is accused of stealing a laptop computer from a classroom Wednesday afternoon.

Ismael Pesqueira, 19, is a student at Career High School near Stapley Drive and Southern Avenue in Mesa.

According to Mesa police Detective Steve Berry, Pesqueira stole a laptop computer valued at $900 from a classroom and concealed it inside a friend's backpack.

Berry said the laptop was recovered and Pesqueira was in possession of a marijuana pipe at the time of his arrest.

Berry said Pesqueira had three outstanding warrants for drug-related charges and hindering prosecution and is currently on probation.

Pesqueira was booked for theft and the outstanding warrants.
