Cold weather continues overnightPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Near freezing temperatures possible early Monday morning and again late Monday night into Tuesday morning across the greater Phoenix Metro area.
Cold air will once again overspread the region tonight through Tuesday. The combination of light winds, clearing skies, and a very dry air mass will allow temperatures to drop into the mid to upper 30s in outlying areas late tonight into early Monday with even colder temperatures expected Tuesday morning across most of the greater Phoenix area. Some outlying areas such as East Mesa, Queen Creek, Cave Creek and Carefree could see temperatures drop into the upper 20s for a brief time.
While a prolonged freeze is not expected at this time, it would be wise to take the proper precautions before the onset of these near freezing temperatures. Cold-sensitive plants should be covered and pets should be brought indoors if possible.
