PHOENIX -- Clouds moved into the Phoenix area overnight and parts of the East Valley saw rain this morning, but Arizona's big weather story was in Arizona's high country.
Flagstaff received up to five inches of a rain-snow mixture today and high winds carried cold air and precipitation across the state. Snowfall was recorded today in Sedona, Payson, Show Low and most points in between and azfamily.com members from across the state captured the winter weather with their cameras - [View Slideshow].
As thousands of Phoenix-area residents make their way home following the long holiday weekend, traffic on I-17 is expected to be particularly heavy due to the winter weather. ADOT officials are asking travelers to pay extra-close attention to their speed and road conditions.
