PHOENIX -- Police said a suspect in a shooting at a Phoenix apartment Tuesday morning is an acquaintance of a woman charged with killing a cab driver last week.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, two men got into an argument at an apartment near Glendale and 27th avenues, which is near where cab driver Brian Mann was shot Friday morning.
The suspect, John White, 41, reportedly forced his way into the victim's apartment and shot the 44-year-old man in the neck at approximately 6:45 a.m.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
White fled and police officers took him into custody at the same apartment complex where officers arrested the suspect in Mann's death, Corletha Sherie Davis.
Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said White is an acquaintance of Davis. Police have not explained the nature of their relationship.
According to police, Mann was shot in the neck near 27th and Myrtle avenues at approximately 6 a.m. Friday. Davis is facing a charge of second-degree murder.
Police have not released the name of the victim in Tuesday's shooting.
White faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and misconduct involving a weapon.
