2 Killed when SUV rear-ends semiPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX – Investigators believe alcohol might have been a factor in an early morning wreck that killed two men.
It happened at about 4 a.m. at 51st Avenue and Van Buren Street.
Police said a Chevy Tahoe was speeding when it rear-ended a semi.
Marcus Rivera, 25, was behind the wheel of that Tahoe. Meraldo Torres, 33, was in the passenger seat. Both died instantly.
No other details about the victims were immediately available.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
While police do believe alcohol might have been involved, the wreck is under investigation.
