Suns' Nash to remain sidelined with groin injuryPosted: Updated:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash will miss his second straight game against Charlotte with a strained groin.
After Nash didn't participate in Saturday's shootaround, coach Alvin Gentry ruled out Nash against the Bobcats. He said he probably wouldn't play Monday at Houston, either.
Gentry says it's "not worth the risk" that something could go "terribly wrong" with the two-time MVP.
Nash played through the injury in Wednesday's loss to Miami, then sat out a night later against Orlando. The Magic cruised to a win, leaving Phoenix 9-18 since the 2004-05 season when Nash doesn't play.
Nash is averaging a team-best 19.3 points and 8.9 assists per game.
Goran Dragic will start in Nash's place against Charlotte.
