Man reportedly confesses to robbing Glendale bank

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale police have arrested a suspect in a bank robbery Saturday morning.

According to Sgt. Brent Coombs, a man armed with a knife entered the Bank of America near 58th Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Glendale just before noon.

Coombs said the suspect got approximately $4,400 and fled in a white SUV.

On Monday, investigators identified Shaun Szydelko, 24, as a prime suspect. He was arrested Tuesday and confessed to the robbery, according to Coombs.

He was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail for felony charges related to the robbery.
