The Tucson police officer charged with assault and disorderly conduct was in court Monday.

Michelle Preiss pleaded not guilty. She's charged in an incident that happened last august at her home.

On Wednesday Preiss will have a termination hearing from TPD.

The head of Tucson Newspapers, the group that publishes the Arizona Daily Star, has resigned.

Lee Enterprises and Gannet, the companies that jointly own Tucson Newspapers, announced Mike Jameson, the president and chief executive officer, is leaving the company.

He's been there since 2004.

Southwest Gas has filed a request with the Arizona Corporation Commission for a rate hike designed to generate $73.2 million in revenue.

If approved, the average household bill would jump 14%, or about $6/month starting early next year.
