Medical condition might have led to fatal accident on I-17

PHOENIX - A medical condition might have led to a man losing control of his car on Interstate 17 Thursday night.

A 63-year-old man was driving on the shoulder at approximately 9:30 p.m.

According to the Department of Public Safety, the man ran over three signs then got into the HOV lane and was hit by a pickup truck.

He later died at the hospital.

The people in the truck were not hurt.
