PHOENIX (AP) - Two men and two juveniles have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Phoenix teenager.

Phoenix police announced Wednesday night that two of the suspects are 17-year-old boys and identified the others as 18-year-old Cristopher Contreras and 18-year-old David Ruiz Velasquez.

Police say all four suspects are facing charges ranging from first-degree murder, aggravated assault and drive-by shooting.

Authorities believe the suspects followed 16-year-old Laurence Lee Lawrence in a pickup truck before shooting several rounds at his vehicle on Nov. 1.

Police say Lawrence and two of his friends had a late-night confrontation with the suspects outside of a convenience store on West McDowell Road. The suspects reportedly challenged Lawrence and his friends to a fight, but they instead returned to their vehicle and left the parking lot.

Lawrence later died at a Phoenix-area hospital. Police say his two friends escaped injury.
