Hazardous materials fire on Tucson's south sidePosted: Updated:
A dangerous situation at a south side business monday.
911 was called out to the Gerome Manufacturing Company on 36th Street near Country Club after a 55 gallon drum full of aluminum and magnesium caught fire. The two metals don't react well to water or air, so Tucson Fire let the fire burn.
Employees at the shop had to wait outside and 36th Street was shut down for several hours.
