PHOENIX -- A Phoenix man accused of bludgeoning his mother and nephew to death last year pleaded guilty on Monday.
The bodies of Logan Lampert, 14, and Sheila Lampert, 61, were found in a Phoenix home on June 20, 2009. Police said the victims were beaten to death with a shovel.
Prosecutors said Erick Lampert fled after the killings.
Police officers arrested Lampert on June 22 after a lengthy search across the Phoenix area.
On Monday, Lampert pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder.
Sentencing is set for Dec. 10.
