Woman dies while in Phoenix police custodyPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - A woman arrested for outstanding warrants died while in Phoenix police custody on Monday.
According to police, Candice Miller, 31, was contacted by police and arrested for her outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
Miller was transported to booking and placed in a holding cell while police complete her paperwork.
When police went to check on Miller she was unresponsive and transported to the hospital where she was declared deceased.
Homicide detectives began investigating the death and it was determined Miller has a pre-existing medical condition which went ignored.
The victim was also said to have a blood alcohol content of .317 at the time of her arrest.
