No Rio Nuevo hotel for downtown TucsonPosted: Updated:
Mayor and council held a public hearing Tuesday night to hear from taxpayers on the convention center hotel.
The meeting was moved over to the convention center because they expected large crowds. The room was packed and evenly divided. The council heard from 25 people who spoke for about 5 minutes each.
At the end of the night, in a unanimous vote, the council decided not to pursue the convention center hotel.
