MESA, Ariz. -- One person was injured after a shot was fired during a bank robbery in Mesa Tuesday morning.

According to Mesa police Sgt. Ed Wessing, a man armed with a gun entered the Chase Bank near Dobson and Baseline roads at approximately 10 a.m. and demanded money.

Wessing said the suspect fired one shot into the security glass. The bullet ricocheted and fragments hit a bank customer in the wrist. That person sustained minor injuries.

The robber escaped with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and a Navy SEALs baseball cap. He also had a bandanna with eye slits over his face.
