Execution set for Tuesday likely to proceedPosted: Updated:
Governor Jan Brewer said she will deny a stay of execution request for convicted killer Jeffrey Landrigan, who's scheduled to be executed on Tuesday.
An Arizona clemency board recommended Governor Brewer temporarily stop the execution, Governor Brewer released a statement saying she'll issue an official proclamation denying the request Monday morning.
"Effectively resolved the contingency upon which Mr. Landrigan's reprieve request was recommended and I have therefore denied his request for a reprieve," said Gov. Brewer of the Arizona courts.
Landrigan received the death penalty for a murder he was convicted of back in 1989.
