GLENDALE, Ariz. - Four people had to be taken to the hospital after a pickup truck landed on top of another vehicle in Glendale.

Police say the driver of a red truck made a hard turn and drove over the median near 67th Avenue and Bell Road Friday afternoon as he tried to avoid a traffic back-up. He drove into oncoming traffic, became airborne and landed on top of a woman's car.

That woman was in the car with her two grandchildren and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

None of the passengers involved in the wreck suffered life-threatening injuries. All of them were reportedly wearing their seatbelts.

A portion of Bell Road near 67th Avenue was closed for a few hours Friday afternoon.

Police say there were slick roads at the time of the crash due to light rain, which may have caused the crash. The driver of the red pickup truck will be cited for failure to stop.
